I made a quick jaunt out to #SligoCreek to check it out before the next major rainstorm. The ice was beautiful but darn the #stormwater runoff that brings all this litter into the stream.

A quick this morning trip out to Montgomery County, Maryland’s Ten Mile creek after a heavy rainfall showed it was running pretty clear.

This morning’s adventure was to head out to Point of Rocks, Maryland, to plan for some upcoming photography work and kayaking. Not a single plastic bottle or piece of trash on the shoreline! #potomacriver #pointofrocks

From this morning’s jaunt out to the Catoctin Creek C&O aqueduct. Unfortunately a few trees block access from the #PotomacRiver but you can walk your kayak around the obstacles. #cleanwater #PointofRocks #CandOCanal Potomac Conservancy

The Muddy Branch was running cool and clear in today’s 100 degree heat. Time to get out on the stream for a few photos before the rains from Hurricane Laura come on Saturday and wash all sorts of silt, chemicals and debris into the stream. #Cleanwater ⁦MuddyBranchAlliance

It was a beautiful morning out at Seneca Breaks on the Potomac River. The water is becoming much clearer now that several days have passed since last week’s heavy rain. @ANStweets Potomac Conservancy C&O Canal Trust #cleanwater #PotomacRiver

Where was the best place on the Potomac River to see the fall leaves this weekend? Well that was at Point of Rocks of course! #CleanWater Potomac Conservancy Choose Clean Water Coalition @ANStweets National Park Service #Rivers @SustainableFCMD #FrederickMD

I love kayaking in the winter because you have the river all to yourself… well except for an occasional belted kingfisher #AnacostiaRiver

From nymphs to adults, there were tons of dragonflies emerging this weekend on the Potomac River. It’s one of my favorite times of the year as there is plenty of invertebrate and wildlife activity. #CleanWater Potomac Conservancy Choose Clean Water Coalition CleanWaterAction MD @ANStweets Izaak Walton League of America

Did you know that Congress and the Senate over road President Nixon’s veto of the Clean Water Act on October 18, 1972? Here is a video I put together from an October 8th gathering of Anacostia River stewards to celebrate the CWA: youtu.be/QVZLBVH0Wy8
