Cox Communications has about 12 million passings and 6.3 million customers, including 5.9 million internet customers.

The Charter-Cox merger includes Segra, a fiber network operator with assets across 24 states.

Charter CEO says it's hard to say when merger could close. Possibly mid next year.

Nathan Simington announces he will leaving the FCC this week, confirming a big scoop from Comm Daily.

Simington: "I remain committed to advancing the cause of limited government, free speech, and American innovation. These principles guided my time at the Commission and will continue to shape my future endeavors."

Olivia Trusty was confirmed as an FCC commissioner on a 53-45 vote. Sen John Fetterman (D-PA) broke with Dems to vote in favor of her confirmation.

Trusty is now a bona fide commissioner.

And fcc.gov has been updated to add Trusty under leadership.
