"...No indication that anyone has been harmed." I beg to differ. We talk about trauma a lot but not often in the context of victims. Harm is experienced every time someone hears a gun shot and wonders where the bullet is going to land. Every student, parent, teacher, resident

It's important not to stereotype housing voucher recipients - many just need help to afford a decent place to live. On the other hand, it would be wrong to deny that some are a threat to their neighbors. The Post reports that the city looks the other way. wapo.st/46UM93l

Adrianne Todman is supposed to be acting; she is a former director of DC public housing. Many people say she left that agency in shambles. Marcia Fudge, Biden’s housing secretary, is stepping down politi.co/3vgFjbH via POLITICO

When Adrianne Todman was the Exec Director of DCHA, she started the policy of vast overpayments for units rented with housing vouchers. hudoig.gov/sites/default/…

It's great to see this The Washington Post story about second-hand smoke in DC apartment buildings. However, it omits the fact that DCHA and the Bowser admin *incentivize* landlords to look the other way when residents smoke in non-smoking buildings. (1/3) washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/…

Why were comments shut down? Is the 72 hour policy now 24? The Washington Post Danny Nguyen Nice work, but agree w/others who said overpayments to landlords are half the story missed here. Apartment dwellers plagued by secondhand smoke have little recourse washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/…
