Why do we build mathematical models?

.CommonAccord has been pushing for a software-like (including Git/Hub) model of parametric legal prose for years. Frankly, feels inevitable but it’s always seemed to me that established players stand lose too much to support adopting and helping to mature this open source “code”

A thing I think is a bit of an underrated bummer is that as algorithms replaced critics as the curatorial discernment mechanism, an entire generation lost out on *an explicit grammar for what to look for* in order to assess quality, especially within a less-familiar medium.

I’m inclined to suggest (non)Ergodicity. It’s the concept which most directly illuminates the structural aspects of the VC-portfolio company relationship. It also maps up to the LP-GP relationship pretty well. Portfolio theory relies heavily on the concept of ergodicity.
