( As if on cue, the distant sound of a lyre can be heard, gently echoing throughout the halls. Said "he" in question was simply doing as he always did; performing his lamentations to a small audience of shades. )

( Truly, the musician's job was never fully done. Even if not for his contract, Orpheus would always find a way to keep making music. As he plays, a few more shades drift towards him, and he feels a happy tug at his heart. As long as he could make someone happy.. )

( Unaware of her presence for the moment, Orpheus plays on. ) 〝 Close enough that light we can see.. ..My doubt betrays the better of me. ♪ 〞

( And for a small while, Orpheus continues on, entirely unaware.. ..until he looks away from his lyre for the smallest of moments, spotting a familiar golden hue. His realization shortly after makes him entirely miss the next bar of the song. ) 〝 ..Oh-! Eurydice, dear..? 〞

( His smile is somewhat sheepish as she compliments his song, and the musician proceeds to politely wave some of the shades away before replying. ) 〝 Why, thank you, my dear. I've had quite a lot of time to practice, here.. 〞

〝 Ah! As are your songs to me, Eurydice. 〞 ( His eyes meet her own, full of a gentle adoration. She was the only audience he ever needed. ) 〝 Perhaps.. we shall sing together, sometime..? 〞

( Orpheus chuckles softly at that, ever so slightly tilting his head towards Eurydice's hand on his shoulder. ) 〝 My, that would just be delightful, my dear.. simply wonderful..! 〞

〝 Oh my.. 〞 ( The other startles a little at the touch, averting his gaze a little, subconsciously fiddling with his lyre strings. ) 〝 Well.. I am always willing to play for you, Eurydice.. 〞

〝 Ah! No, no, it's.. it's quite alright! You're just.. 〞 ( He pauses, then smiles, gathering the courage to glance up at his muse once more. ) 〝 I am honored to inspire you, as you do for me. I will happily oblige to prove it! 〞

( So, with that, he hums contentedly, continuing to strum from last he left off, still looking to her all the while. ) 〝 A glance to the stern is all it would be. That anguished shade shall haunt me.. 〞
