This trick should be shared for stylized art imo. A lot of people struggle with this kind of detail. This method is clean and fast and most importantly you have control over it, can fade parts with morph target etc. It's basically inner glow from photoshop #zbrush

Looks like my cover for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 40th Anniversary special is now online. I was asked to draw a faux "golden age" cover for this one and it went through several iterations (including a WW2 themed one!) before the final product.
