McKinsey received $4.8M to advise Doug Ford on #COVID19ON #BackToSchool, recommend privatization. 1. #OntEd is world class edu system. 2. I can’t think of example where privatization has been improvement. 3. Lots of expertise in #OntEd available instead. pressprogress.ca/company-hired-…

Here's a folder I've created to compile Education Ontario publications for future reference, just in case the government "lost" them: drive.google.com/drive/folders/… I'll keep adding as I go. Shoutout to TDSB instructional coaches who hoard and share everything!

Three cheers to Amberley T. Ruetz, PhD for this fantastic piece on the need for a national school food program! Both the arguments AND the numbers are compelling. And now is the time to do this properly. Talk to the people on the ground ALREADY doing this work. theconversation.com/canadas-pandem…

Doing the same. The words "food security" aren't anywhere in this document. For Ottawa, if food is anything, it's a source of revenue. Chrystia Freeland we have to do better than this. 13% of the country is food insecure. Food prices have soared 20%. How much worse does it have to get?

You can tell something about the overall *mood* of the Government Food Strategy that on the first page, the first organisation credited with helping Britain to eat more healthily is...Cadbury. Even by the industry-loving standards of British food policy, this is staggering.

Ok so Tim Hortons spent more than a year silently and illegally tracking users through their mobile app, and the proposed class action settlement is ... a free coffee and a donut. I swear to fucking god. This is real.

BREAKING: A new report by Ontario's Financial Accountability Office has found the Ontario government is underspending on healthcare by $21.3 billion. They're underfunding our public healthcare system so they can implement private for-profit healthcare. Don't let them fool you.

All while schools are cutting student supports, foodbank lines are record-length, shelters are at capacity each night, nurses are run off their feet (if not out the door). These aren't excess funds. They're WITHELD funds. From Ontarians who need investment in THEM. Now. #ONPoli

No $$to pay nurses. No $$ to keep hospital ERs open. No $$ for schools. No $$ for autistic kids but $22 billion in ‘excess funds’ flip.it/1otTSO
