Today we were at Car Hill High School for one of our best awareness events ever!! As part of their Children's mental health week event we were raising awareness directly to young people about issues young carers might be facing whilst in school.

Our wonderful Denise is at Marine Hall today at a Careers Fair for year 11 students. There are 100's of young people attending so she is there to raise awareness of young carers and to talk to young people and teachers about the support we can offer!

Lancashire Young Carers took part in First Aid training this week during their half term break. It was delivered by Andrea at Mini First Aid and she did a fantastic job of keeping everyone engaged throughout.

Barnardo’s Lancashire Young Carers took a couple of young carers who do not feel comfortable in large groups to watch the film Dogman at Wigan Omniplex Cinema this week. They thought the film was great and afterwards went to McDonalds where they chatted and got to know each other

Denise attended a Young Carers Breakfast yesterday at Albany Academy Chorley. There were 12 young carers present, they discussed their education and support as a young carer and they were told about our service and given the opportunity to ask any questions they had.

Today we're at Preston County Hall at their World Social Workers Event. There are lots of social workers in attendance and other services here sharing what support is available to families in the area.

The photography group made a start on 2026 calendar. This year's theme is Lancashire Landmarks and the young people enjoyed taking photos in Lytham, followed by a visit to McDonald's. If anyone would like to join the photography group please speak to your project worker 😀

Today, project worker Rachel is feeling snazzy delivering her 1:1 sessions in these soundproof meeting pods at Worden Academy. 5 private pods, all different sizes to suit different needs!
