I know a lot of ppl said that Stoner (John Williams) made them realise the insignificance of their own lives, but I felt it was kind of comforting to know that my existence may not have much of an impact on the world yet I can still live a full & meaningful life

Nora's face after Agnes says "stop exaggerating"... from anger to shock to helplessness. So many memorable scenes in this film & yet this one sticks out the most to me.

Ryohei Suzuki's performance in Egoist (2022) is definitely in the top ten of the best I've ever seen. The emotional depth that he brought to the screen was so impressive & I'm still in awe even 4 yrs later.

A hundred plus writers dropping out of Adelaide Writers Week in solidarity with a peer and in support of free speech seems like a pretty good example of social cohesion to me.

The term 'iPhone face' when it comes to period dramas feels kind of redundant when I think of ppl like Diana Dors. Like I don't think we have a grasp on what ppl from certain time periods look like even tho we think we do.

Madison Newbound is a master of descriptive writing. This book is a pretty apt depiction of living life vicariously through others on social media & whether or not we're actually living as our authentic selves of just emulating those around us.

I rewatched Sorry, Baby (2025) and was reminded of how one of the reasons that this film is so great is how Eva Victor writes Agnes w/ such kindness, understanding & love
