There is nothing new about kids bunking lessons if they’re allowed to. Laying this at the door of SEND is simply ducking the fact that children will often opt-out if no one stops them. The main factor driving this isn’t mental health, but human nature. Sadly in Scotland, the

O2 price rise feels like a mockery of Ofcom’s consumer protection! O2 has announced that from April 2026, mobile customers will see their monthly bills rise by MORE THAN IT TOLD THEM, £30 a year – up 40% from the £21.60 annual increase previously written into their contracts.

Did you know, you can easily create a set of questions to test and consolidate previously taught topics? Just choose the objectives you want to test then click the appropriate button. I've opened up this percentages unit for anyone to have a play with. mathsbot.com/unit?id=165

Many students are sold a lie that learning should feel pleasurable, and when that's not their experience, the cognitive dissonance eats them alive. It's like someone signs up for strength & conditioning at a gym and the trainer tells them that they should feel pleasure doing

I used to think the main damage from social media was to youth mental health. Now I believe that the global destruction of the human ability to pay attention may be even larger. A meta-analysis shows the damage, to adults as well as teens, from TikTok+ psycnet.apa.org/fulltext/2026-…

“Academic accommodations for anxiety convey two harmful messages. First, they imply that the feared situation is truly dangerous. Public speaking, testing, or lunch with classmates are too risky for a student. Second, they suggest that the student can’t withstand the distress.

The way we help students with stress is to help them to master that stress or see the trigger as less stressful, not by confirming that the source of their anxiety must be avoided at all costs.

Parents: Do not give your children any AI companions or AI enhanced toys. With social media 15 years ago, we can say we didn't know. With AI, we can already see some of the harms, such as suicide and psychosis. Other harms will surface years from now. afterbabel.com/p/dont-give-yo…

People who don't think phones/social media are having a deleterious effect on developing brains -- what's the alternative explanation for this? Did every country put lead in the water at the same time?
