You see how the UK media frames this to cast Redknapp in a negative light when the story is that two of her band mates wouldn't play LGBT+ festivals or gigs due fo the LGBT+ community's support for trans rights. This framing has been going on for years now. It has to stop.

In 1987, Thatcher was spewing horrific homophobia from the Tory pulpit. In 2023, Rishi Sunak is attacking trans people in a very similar way. Now, most people see Thatcher's speech for the hatemongering it was. Eventually, most people will view Sunak's speech the same way.

People on the outside always question the validity of it, because they cannot understand Pride in the face of normativity. This is the disability version of "I don't care if you are but be a little quieter about it". And in response to that, I say "NO".

Sometimes we'd be telling her a story or we'd share a meme with her, & she'd get really upset thinking that it was about trans ppl even tho it was unrelated.
