we’re drowning in information, but starved of wisdom. may we SEEK WISDOM we’re surrounded by “thought leaders”, but devoid of trail-worn guides. may we FIND SAGES we’re saturated with methods and strategies, but hesitant to embody and practice. May we DO SOMETHING. amen.

start with community and you rarely get to mission. start with mission and you often discover a depth of community you could not have imagined nor created by direct pursuit.

microchurch can help. "our sunday service isn't enough to help people experience community & belonging" "our sunday service isn't enough to form disciples that know & follow Jesus and multiply" "our sunday morning service is not effectively reaching ppl" microchurch can help.

Clearly, the easiest ways to get applause on social media is by disparaging your cultural and political opponents and by keeping your audience enraged. I challenge Christian leaders to avoid such cheap praise. It's much easier to become a conflict entrepreneur than to inspire.

If you attract consumers, you could easily gather 1000 people, but less than 100 will get active in mission If you aim to equip, you might not ever gather 100 at one time, but they will reach thousands. Pick one.

where the Bible says "let us not neglect the gathering" (heb 10:25) it's talking about dinner tables and living rooms, not concerts and ted talks. God is eager to meet with you and others around the simplicity of the table, don't go along without it!

The corporate world discovered APEST almost 40 years ago and has been using it ever since, what insights might the church glean from it? You can read my guest article on the StarfishU substack open.substack.com/pub/starfishyo…

I've seen lots of people make the shift from: "church is the building" -> "church is the people" I've seen few people make the shift from: "church is an event" -> "church is a way of being together" "Gatherings" is an insufficient container for the adventure God has for you

It costs me $11,657 more annually in taxes to live in IL instead of FL. WILD. Same job, same household income (only 65% above the poverty line), house in illinois is actually half the taxable value of our florida house. illinois residents have to pay this much just to exist
