I admire the journalists who, after hearing Mayor Sotto’s interview, chose to reflect on how their profession has lived up to its ethical standards, mindful of the powerful role mass communication plays. To me, this is the right way to address the issue.

The thing is that Vico Sotto does have the benefit of the doubt because of the public trust he has gained by his performance of his public function. Expect sinister attempts to dig dirt on him but I guess he expects this to come.

Whatever it is, 2028 is what matters to politicians. The most effective fix to their misbehavior is to make sure they don't come back. Not easy for us, is it? But do we really have any choice? I am sure you wouldn't welcome the alternative.

The thing with earthquakes is that one can not know when they will happen or whether we will survive them. What is certain is our vulnerability. That's why we pray, not only for protection, but to be prepared to accept His will.
