Ms. Cronmiller's class learned about DNA with art. Students discovered how their artwork is as unique as our DNA. Students used only four shapes to create their art, just as DNA is created with only four bases. #STEAM #LPSteacher #CreativeThinking

Scientists from the AgCenter and Cornell University are collaborating on a study of the ancestors of what became the modern rice plant. They hope to uncover useful traits from wild lines of rice that have been lost through domestication. bit.ly/2QDD7Tq

#CoverCrops collected and time to separate out the mixes. A little black oats, wheat, hairy vetch, and radish made for pretty nice mix. #LSUAgCenter #SouthernCoverCrops

Just how fast does cover crop biomass degrade and when are nutrients released? We’ll have a better estimate with Kritsanee’s research. #CoverCrops

There are many moving parts to this project and many people who make its success possible. Here, a student worker is preparing runoff samples to be analyzed for nitrogen and phosphorus losses from erosion. #lsuBMPs

#Oyster biodeposits are rich in nitrogen and carbon. They have the potential to accumulate on the seafloor. This can affect the subaqueous soils and potentially overwhelm critters that live in them. Read more in this #SoilsMatter blog: ow.ly/X3RI50AmPcU 📸: Annie Ragan

Started a new video series highlight graduate students within the Plant and Soil Science department here at Oklahoma State University. Important to highlight these individuals as they make most of our program work.

We took a beating from Laura but everyone is ok. Experiencing an EF2 tornado and category 2 hurricane, when it hit us, is enough fun for this year. Laura decided to finish off foundation seed and lodge pretty much any crop that was standing.
