Just went to see The Duchess (of Malfi) at Trafalgar Theatre by my amazing friend Zinnie Harris (who I know is a genius but I still get surprised by the fact whenever I go to one of her plays). Jodie Whittaker is brilliant, as is the whole cast.

You all know I have two jobs: musical theatre songwriter and firefighter with Dunvegan Fire Station. Well I went to my first ever West End after-show party and I now know that given a choice between that and a burning house I would definitely choose the latter. Much less stressful.

Three days of auditions, two writing meetings for two different projects, one musical pitch, three shows, one press night and now off the bus and straight into a ceilidh!

Congratulations to Leeds Playhouse for winning this, so well deserved, director James Brining has such brilliant instincts. It’s the musical that made me love musicals age 12 and this production is the best version I’ve seen! Also congrats to Jenny Fitzpatrick - the best Nancy ever!

I thought writing four musicals simultaneously was hard but no, that’s nothing compared to deciding where to eat with eight people.

Certainly didn’t help my imposter syndrome one bit when I got all suited up for a big showbiz party and everyone just thought I was the waiter.

Although I’m now on other platforms I can’t actually leave this site until jeje finishes her Doctor Who watch-through. I’m just too invested in her journey. Once she’s finished, I’m totally out.
