“hmm…not really.” he shifts a little, so he can lean forward and take a better look at the papers, grabbing a pen with a hand while tje other stays on teddy’s back, holding him close. now and then flinching or making little noises with the massage.

john simply nodded, taking slow breathes as told - struggling to every few minutes as he loses focus on his breathing. and he continues working…

staying in bed. there’s still a lot of work to do, but its his day off…plus, he’s exhausted…

john could notice teddy had fallen asleep at some point, a soft smile on his face at that. it wouldn’t take himself a couple hours to fall asleep too, having thought he’d just rest his eyes for a bit and instead passing out.

looking at. eyebrow raise.

“didn’t say that.”

“shouldn’t you be, ah…fighting off villains or something of the sort?” a short pause. “not saying i don’t like your company. its just…i’d been seeing you around so often.”

“so i have the honor of having your company? im flattered.” a lil grin.

“bit late for that.” he said with a chuckle.

“heh.” he shakes his head, looking away. “regular criminals have been pretty quiet too…c’mon, come with me. smoke break.” he says as he shows a cigarette box, motioning him to follow outside.

“mm. maybe.” in the alley behind the building, he leans against a wall, pulling out a cigarette.

“hey!” snatching it right back. “at least let me light it first.” using a hand to push teddy away, while the other pulls out a lighter from his pocket, nearing the flame to the cig.

“good brand? nah.” he scoffed, chuckling. “just whatever gets tobacco into my lungs.”

“yes i can.” he joked, blowing smoke at teddy’s face. “whoops~”

“ fuck. im still alive.”

“ c’mon, darious. lets get back home.”
