All these claims that 5y old will have their whole life destroyed by missing school... Many countries - including the ones with the best results in the world - send their children to school at the age of 7.

Don’t tell me I’m behind. Don’t tell me I’ll be held back for ever. Don’t tell me I need longer at school. Don’t tell me I’m lost. Tell me I can do it. Tell me you’ll help me. Tell me you believe in me. Tell me we’ll do it together. Yours sincerely, The children.

Children don’t need to be in school over summer. They need to be seeing family and friends they haven’t seen in a year, going to the beach, the cinema and the zoo. They need to be laughing. They need to be reminded that life can be fun and that there’s a world outside their home.
