On This Day – 7 February 2005 🗓 Ellen MacArthur onboard trimaran B&Q/Castorama breaks the speed record for sailing solo around the world. The 27,354 nautical miles (50,660 km) journey took her 71 days, 14 hours 18 min. 33 sec.
