This morning as I headed to my office, 7yo yelled, “don’t be perfect!” Oh, the startling wisdom of kids. And a profoundly freeing wish for a self-abasing perfectionist like me. I paused, then answered, “I’ll try. Thank you.” Today may we feel the liberation of the imperfect.

Cat update: we trapped the little one who has been coming around for weeks. She’s headed to the vet to get spayed. Every time she looks at me it’s with this expression of abject betrayal. I feel terrible.

Stray cat update: we have a newly spayed, very skinny and upset cat hiding behind towels in our bathroom.

Stray cat update. The 6mo female we trapped, vaxxed, and fixed was already a mother. 😭 We caught one of her kittens… four more to go. (How did this happen?)
