I enjoyed the 5th graders Hidden Figures of the American Revolution Living Museum. I was so impressed by how much some of the students I had for 3rd grade 2 years ago have grown 🥰🥰

To get some practice with measurement, we created our own beanstalks and measured the length of the entire beanstalk as well as the length of each leaf. We used this data to create a line plot.

Today we had a presentation from Red Cross about being prepared for various types of emergencies. I’m so proud of how well my students listened, followed directions, and stayed engaged the whole time. 🥰🥰

I haven’t posted in a while so here’s a little update. I’m currently teaching 6th and 8th grade math for the second year. Yesterday my 6th graders investigated how many of different units of measurement will fit in certain objects

In Science, we just started our electricity unit. So today I told my students that they had to make a flashlight with just a battery, wire, and a lightbulb. I loved seeing the productive struggle and how excited they were once they figured it out.
