As a leader, I don’t care what time the staff at our school leave and arrive. I care that they are doing the job to a good standard. How they achieve that is largely up to them.

A school full of teachers at 6pm isn’t necessarily something to be proud of and a school empty of teachers by 4pm isn’t something be ashamed of.

We are happy to be in school and stick to the rules but when, as staff, we hear children talking about what they are up to out of school- and their families very clearly not sticking to the rules- it makes us cross, it’s not fair! #COVID19

This is only my opinion but if you want to mitigate learning loss from the pandemic for your child (or any child) read aloud to or with them from a challenging & engaging book at or slightly above their comfort range for independent reading as much as you possibly can.
