MYTH: A signed donor card is all I need to become an organ donor. FACT: Paper donor cards are no longer in use, but you can register your consent at beadonor.ca or in person at ServiceOntario. #BeADonor #soyezundonneur #organandtissuedonation

In Ontario, we no longer ask you to sign a physical card as we found the cards were not always readily available when needed. It's much easier now! Simply visit BeADonor.ca to register your consent to be an organ and tissue donor. :)

Organ & tissue donation will not delay funeral plans. Medical suitability testing and organ/tissue recovery usually occurs 24-36 hours after someone’s passing. After donation families can carry out funeral arrangements incl. open casket, burial, cremation. BeADonor.ca

When a potential donor is registered, families almost always proceed with donation. In the absence of registration, families consent less than half the time. This is why it is important to tell your family that you want to be a donor. Learn more: BeADonor.ca
