Transplanted around 20 saplings from elsewhere on our land to this spare patch in our field. Hoping that this will become a small copse to provide habitat for wildlife and materials for future projects. Mix of Ash, Sycamore, Horse Chestnut, Sweet Chestnut and Lime.

The linseed oil that I treated these nucs with over the winter has attracted a bit of mold whilst they've been in a garden shed. The junior beekeepers are now doing a great job of wiping them down.

Top marks to Hook Norton Brewery. Ordered a couple of cases of beer at 4am this morning (couldn't sleep) and they were delivered just after 5pm this afternoon. Looking forward to this year's brewery tour once this madness abates. 🍻

Livestock movements thankfully still count as essential journeys so we were able to go and collect this year's weaners today. 🐷

After seeing queen cells in both of our hives at the weekend, today I found the current queens and moved them into nucs along with some brood and stores. Now need to think about what to do when the colonies get too big for their new bijou homes.

.BBC Radio 4 Was it really necessary to broadcast the word "shit" not once but three times in quick succession at 6.35pm? There are little ones still awake!
