Reporters aren’t asking Kamala Harris about her support for two problematic policies: The PRO Act bill to displace 70M freelancer livelihoods & abolish right-to-work Net-zero climate polices that would destroy our economy with no measurable benefit to the environment. *Sigh*

This is one of the most ridiculous lines that the #FreelanceBusting brigade loves to repeat. I always respond with, "There also are no laws that prohibit employers from giving every employee a Lamborghini and a pony--but I don't see that happening anytime soon, either."

Kim Kavin The issue isn't law but practicality. If all workers can work whenever and wherever they want, however many hours they want, a company can't ensure having the number of workers they need all of whom get at least minimum wage. It would drive a company out of business.

Not only are they wrong, but this highly privileged millionaire and billionaire are also unbelievably insulting to all kinds of hardworking Americans who own the smallest of small businesses—many of them started by independent contractors with less than $5,000.

I complained to Wikipedia after 3 anonymous "editors" (Wordsmith, theleekycauldron, and Tamzin) ruled that the Anti-Defamation League is not a “reliable source” on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The Free Press Thank you. How Wikipedia Became a Propaganda Site open.substack.com/pub/bariweiss/…

We’re now at the part where it is more palatable to Democrats to have a Republican in the cabinet than it is to have an independent contractor involved in creating independent-contractor policy.

New from me: "When unionists are insisting on regulations and laws that threaten or outright destroy the livelihoods of lower- and middle-class independent contractors, we are seeing a real dark side of union power." freelancebusting.com/p/extremism-in…

I am so grateful for all the kind comments that people are posting here, urging Donald J. Trump to appoint me for a Labor advisor role to protect everyone's right to be our own bosses. Thank you for your votes in the continuing #FightForFreelancers! discourse.nomineesforthepeople.com/t/kim-kavin/13…

The amazing Lisa Rothstein drew this for me, to show why I’d like Donald J. Trump to consider me as a Labor policy adviser. Our government has been relentlessly attacking our freedom to be our own bosses. It needs to stop. If you agree, vote for me here: discourse.nomineesforthepeople.com/t/kim-kavin/13…

Excellent The Free Press article considering why a lifetime of publishing racist, homophobic & antisemitic works is being honored by the National Book Foundation. Or especially why not one single person involved returned calls to the journalist researching this occasion. thefp.com/p/national-boo…

Lisa Rothstein (@davincidiva) 's Twitter Profile Photo

EXACTLY. Hey JD Vance Donald J. Trump are you for destroying the choice to work #freelance, or to hire a 1099 independent contractor in America? Because your Labor Sec'y pick sure is. That's what the #PROAct she and the Teamsters support does, just like #AB5 did in

New from me: At this week's confirmation hearing for U.S. Labor Secretary nominee Lori Chavez-DeRemer, senators should ask these six questions about independent contractors. freelancebusting.com/p/we-need-answ…

Looking forward to a hearing that provides clarity on Lori Chavez DeRemer's stance on independent workers. Our U.S. Department of Labor needs to protect the livelihoods of independent business owners and freelancers across the country. Senate HELP Committee GOP news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/tr…

Thank you, Rep. Burgess Owens -- we independent contractors appreciate you having our backs. And we look forward to having the Modern Worker Empowerment Act - H.R. 1319 passed into law

The SEIU leader that these allegations are about, George Gresham, was on the advisory committee to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's task force that pushed the narrative of independent contractor "misclassification."

It is beyond dishonest at this point for organizations like this one to focus only on rideshare and call for passage of the PRO Act without acknowledging the harm its ABC Test language has done to so many other professions in California. hrw.org/report/2025/05…

Here’s what happens when a publication founded by a socialist inks a contract with the National Writers Union. 25 cents per word for freelance articles. And unions wonder why so many professional writers want absolutely no part of joining their ranks. inthesetimes.com/article/itt-ag…
