The Nebraska State Athletic Trainers’ Association has organized a “Safety in Sport Campaign” in order to promote increased safety in sport in the State of Nebraska. Follow along each week and learn what NSATA’s athletic trainers do each and every day to improve safety

Yesterday afternoon the NSATA Executive Board and GAC members met with Senators Hansen and Ballard to discuss how the practice act update has affected athletic trainers across the state. Great things are happening for Nebraska ATs!

Week 3 of the Safety in Sport Campaign focuses on asthma. It is estimated that 1 in 13 people have asthma in the US. Asthma attacks can completely stop athletic performance and lead to serious harm if untreated. ATs can recognizing and help treat asthma attacks. #ATSafetyinSport

Week 7 of the Safety in Sport Campaign looks into proper form in track. Poor running and jumping form can lead to injuries such as: knee pain, IT band syndrome, shin splints, muscle strains, etc. ATs work closely with coaches and athletes to ensure proper form. #ATSafetyinSport
