This is *so* very well deserved. Mishal Husain is not only a peerless interviewer, brilliant colleague and friend but she has also changed the status of women on BBC Radio 4 Today, a truly impressive achievement.
If anyone wants to learn how to make a good radio package, just listen to the piece on shoplifting by Jim Connolly on BBC Radio 4 Today at 0810 - an absolute masterclass. A clear narrative, almost all of it recorded in situ, great voices and really made you feel like you were there.
Many a member of the UK political and media collective will remember the day David Davis resigned as an MP, prompting a by-election in his own constituency. They may not know about the precise circumstances that led him to call Nick Robinson that morning:
