This week in my TESOL program we are continuing our discussions on the importance of translanguaging in the classroom. It’s not easy; it requires an epistemological change in every day language use. But, it allows students to challenge the status quo of a monolingual classroom.

By encouraging a translanguaging approach, we should encourage students to use their entire linguistic repertoire - regardless of content area!
