Another productive day of sampling by the #Critical_Ireland team but this time in relative luxury - no Irish summer rain and 100% exposure in the Geological Survey NI core store! @scienceirel Geological Survey IE On The Rocks
New paper led by Martin Mangler! Here we suggest that there may be an intermediate mixed diffusion-interface limited growth mode for magmatic crystals. doi.org/10.1093/petrol… 🌋 🌋 🌋 Eshbal Geifman, Amanda Lindoo, Dr Fabian Wadsworth, Durham Earth Science, Bristol Volcanology Group.
Fiery Forces of Ireland was a huge hit last night at Culture Night Dublin with over 250 visitors! We had such a blast - volcanoes and earthquakes everywhere!! 🌋🖤 #DIASDiscovers #TCDGeology #CultureNightDublin iCRAG Centre DIAS Geophysics On The Rocks Trinity College Dublin Dublin City Council
I’m Eshbal (Eshbal Geifman) and I am working on understanding the effects of crustal assimilation on magmatic intrusions with a focus on igneous intrusions across Northern Ireland the north of Ireland which make up a part of the British and Irish Palaeogene Igneous Province.
Fieldwork highlight: PhD student Eshbal Geifman (Eshbal Geifman) and members of the #Critical_Ireland team were away this summer checking out the rocks of the Portrush Sill, in Northern Ireland
Join us this Friday for our annual #CultureNight event! We will be in Regents House from 5pm with a range of displays and activities about volcanic eruptions sure to entertain and educate visitors of all ages.
