This week I was to exhibition about Mērija Grīnberga. She saved most of the artifacts of Latvian museums during WW2 by bringing them through half of Europe.

Here is the map where Mērija Grīnberga went with Latvian heritage artifacts. She had 700 (!) boxes at the beginning. Of course, at the journey end there were around 400 left. The official reason was to take them away from active war zone closer to Germany.

Yesterday I went to the movie and I was fascinated with the fashion Maleficent had. Time for some fan art!

Last week I went to Jaunpils where is located this castle. 🏰 Jaunpils castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Latvia, built in 14th century. ⚔️🛡

The very first drawing I made for my coloring book "The city of snowmen"was the ice-fishing snowman. I took the inspiration of my old photo from 2010 when the frost was all around the town.

This area around Dobele castle ruins and the river is one of the most romantic places in the town ❤️So I included it in my coloring book “The city of snowmen” imagining how snowmen would enjoy winter by skating on the frozen river.

This scene is inspired by Dobele castle ruins. The castle was built in 1335 by crusades knights. There didn't live kings and queens, only knights and dukes in later centuries. Nowadays there are left only ruins of castle.

There are several flat buildings near the valley of the river Bērze in Dobele town. If you live there, you’re lucky to have a beautiful sight out of windows 😉 When I made a picture with doctors for my coloring book "The City of Snowmen", I imagined exactly this sight.

Jelgava palace is the largest in Latvia, it’s located in the neighbouring city Jelgava just 25 min drive from Dobele. Originally it was very splendid, but after heavy damages during WW2 the palace was almost destroyed. As building it was restored but it lost all original interior

Yesterday i started to work on lilacs park scene after we had a wonderful picnic with other homeschooling families in Upītis garden. The garden is called after Pēteris Upītis who was Latvian breeder of plants. He developed several kinds of lilacs, and also had a great collection.

Happily finished The Lilac Garden! I already put it a custom made box and now it’s ready to go to the exhibition place! ❤️ ☃️

Between Christmas and New Year holidays I started to work on a picture book. I had the idea for a quite while.
