Brad Pitt's character in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD was based on HAL NEEDHAM. After NEEDHAM became BURT REYNOLDS' stunt double the pair were inseparable and lived together for 12 years. Reynolds even got Needham's script SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT greenlit.
