A positive development after months of stalling from the Doug Ford govt. As of tomorrow, seniors, children & those with certain underlying health conditions will once again be eligible for OHIP covered eye exams. The govt must work w/Ontario Association Of Optometrists & negotiate a fair deal.

Services will be back for seniors, youth and recipients of OHIP covered eyecare starting tomorrow. I will be using my voice in the Legislature to tell the Premier to bargain in good faith, to stay at the table and ensure these services won't be lost again #onpoli #eyecareontario

This is encouraging news, both for optometrists and for the millions of Ontarians that rely on OHIP coverage for eye care. I will continue to call on the Ford gov to cover the full operating cost of OHIP eye care so seniors & children can get the care they need. #onpoli

Thank you to everyone who signed petitions, reached out to our office and advocated for the Ford Government to resume negotiations with optometrists. Hopefully, this Government will finally take these talks seriously and stop playing games with essential eye care services.

IT’S TRUE! Both parties are back at the negotiation table and the job action is halted as of tomorrow. Let’s hope that the negotiations go better this time and we have a resolution ASAP. In the meantime we’re back in business for our OHIP patients
