Another day of marking and disappointment at so many students feeling the need to lean so heavily on Gen AI. I'm mining their papers for sparks of insight and originality - and being met by high walls of banality. The days of the academic essay must be numbered. #HE #Marking

Who could possibly have predicted the end of this fine #Bromance when these two egos first landed in the The White House? #Musk will do all he can now to undermine any chance of a positive #Trump legacy.

Great speaking to Rick Edwards on BBC Radio 5 Live just now about the end of the Trump/Musk #Bromance from Surrey Politics at University of Surrey. Elon won't go quietly on this and is probably one of the only people that President Donald J. Trump should fear. Get popcorn, get wine - this will only get messier.

Not quite the day I expected - but the #Trump/#Musk spat is grotesquely fascinating. Just spoke to Today with Claire Byrne on RTÉ Radio 1 from Surrey Politics at University of Surrey - BBC Radio Ulster next up at lunchtime. Eat-Sleep-Mark-Repeat has gone out of the window today.

It's such a shame that govs on both sides have made tax a dirty word #BBCLauraK. Our social contract is utterly out of kilter. We should be taxing the wealthy significantly more. But look at countries like Denmark: higher personal contributions from all, but great public services

Tice again! Each year at uni I have a bunch of noisy boys who arrive in class & talk bollocks confidently without any self awareness. The Reform UK Deputy Leader seems to be their future. Noisy Boy theory over-indexes hugely and unhelpfully in our politics #BBCLauraK.

'Exhausted' though the very vocal and media-hungry Zia Yusuf may be, he can still dance with great energy on the head of a racist pin early in the morning #R4Today.

Dear BBC Radio 4 Today Reform UK MPs make up less than 1% of the UK House of Commons and under 4% of all local councillors. Their presence is amplified by massive over-coverage in the media. Why are you leading that mission? #R4Today.

Absolutely right for the #PM to comment. Not sure it's right though to distinguish British nationals from the other passengers and crew. A devastating loss for all. #Ahmedabad

It rained a bit on the #TrumpParade, but very few people got wet. What a hollow show of hubris from a Commander in Chief who, despite a military school education, never served a single day in uniform for his country.

The UK must have absolutely nothing to do with Israel's attacks on Iran which are all about keeping the warmonger #Netanyahu in power, not about dealing with the nuclear threat Laura Kuenssberg. #bbclaurak

Why is the son of the #ShahofIran on the media round this morning? The Shah's rule in Tehran was a dictatorship which stifled any political dissent through fear, torture and execution. It was no better than the current heinous regime #bbclaurak.

Should we let #HE #students outsource their brains to #AI? I wrote a thing on LinkedIn that's picked up a LOT of traction. linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…
