OK, I know this is pure coincidence but it has to be said: I find it amazing that both "Citizen Kane" and "The Muppet Show", two of the greatest media moments ever, premiered on September 5th, 35 years apart.

Well...in light of recent news, I pulled the plug on Disney+ If the Mouse wants to submit to "The Duck" and his Cauldronborn, then they don't need me. I'll just get my Disney content used from Thriftbooks and "elsewhere".

THE CANDIDATE (1972). You couldn't make this movie today. Not because it's particularly un-PC, but because it features maybe the biggest movie star in the world at the time in an intelligent, naturalistic, ambivalent survey of the emptiness at the heart of the electoral process.

To those who care: no I'm not boycotting Disney. Art is art and shouldn't be harmed by those that they were created for. But...I'm buying my Disney movies used so it doesn't go to corporate.
