Excellent thread. I couldn’t agree more with what was said. To ignore the obvious parallels - not to mention the fact that this isn’t the only example (I’d honestly include Leslie’s story, and Loveless as well) - is to rob the story of its depth/impact.

Excellent thread. Couldn’t have said it better myself. There’s this tendency to forget that, much like Cloud, Aerith puts up facade of her own; just one of a smile, instead of a scowl. If there’s one area where Rebirth really excelled, it was showing this hidden side to her.

In my opinion, one of the best scenes in the entire Retrilogy. The music, the dialogue, the cinematography; all are absolutely top notch. You can really tell how much effort was put into making it all work together. Wonderful scene.
