A1: I think the expectation put on me when I graduated high school was to go to college, not be ready for college, just go. I think this has definitely changed. We are now pushing for college and career readiness. #cravenedchat #JBUEdChat

A2: Ss now have the ability to choose the path they want, even if that means not going to college. This is why pushing them to be college and career ready is extremely important. We really should just be wanting to make well rounded and educated adults. #cravenedchat #JBUEdChat

A3: Talking about Ss many options promotes the mindset that college isn't for everyone: they can pursue the path they want to take. Also teaching well rounded curriculum that doesn't just cater to college, but also prepare them for real life situations. #cravenedchat #JBUEdChat

Q3: I think I notice that the first picture is only a graph of 6 people when the others ask for seven. If I looked at the picture correctly. I am wondering what answer the problem is looking for since it can be correct in so many ways. #elemmathchat #JBUEdChat

Q4: I would hope my students first question would be if they could use manipulatives. I think this is a great question for manipulatives. #elemmathchat #JBUEdChat

Q5: I think it is so important to challenge Ss in new ways than they are used to seeing. Most students can solve standard problems very fast, but when we write it in a new way it makes them stop and really think. #elemmathchat #JBUEdChat

Q6: I think the biggest thing to get out of open middle problems is that math can be so creative. They also strengthen math confidence in students because there are many different answers most of the time. Math is fun and should be creative for Ss. #elemmathchat #JBUEdChat

A2: Walking in a Winter Wonderland for sure. This song is about seeing new things and being very happy, and that is what I hope from my classroom. #forsythpln #JBUEdChat

A3: I always think the little "I can't wait to come to your classroom" or "I'll miss you over break" are really sweet to receive from Ss. #forsythpln #JBUEdChat

A4: I provided a pencil for a S that needed one. I let her borrow one any time she needed it because I knew she didn't have one in her backpack. She told me repeatedly how much it meant to her and that most teachers won't do that for her. #forsythpln #JBUEdChat
