WASHINGTON (AP) — Supreme Court refuses to halt the execution of Missouri death row inmate Marcellus Williams. Fuck the death penalty. Fuck the system. This is a true outrage. Disgusting and awful and I have no words.

Marcellus Williams was killed today by the state of Missouri for a crime he didn’t commit. It’s a shameful day for Missouri, and a shameful day for Governor Mike Parson, who failed in his duty to protect an innocent man from injustice.

The execution of Marcellus Williams is a horrible injustice. This didn’t have to happen. Just a couple weeks ago, prosecutors—with the support of the victim’s family—had reached a plea agreement with Marcellus that took death off the table.

No DNA evidence. Jury members, even the prosecutor circled back saying the verdict was a mistake. Nobody involved wanted this man to die. We have a soulless justice system in this country. This is why the term “black lives matter,” as simple as it sounds, is so audacious.

We must abolish the death penalty.

Tonight, Missouri lynched Marcellus Williams. DNA evidence proved he was innocent. It didn’t matter. Because the United States is a serial killer of Black people.
