Very important topic. One question though: is there any way out of the suggestibility trap with psychedelics? Anyway not to put some English on the ball? Because if there isnt, then there is *no way out of the loop.* In which case, traditional "science" is impossible.

go deep enough w trusting your gut & heart, they’ll tell you when it’s time to use your intellect go far enough w trusting your intellect, it’ll tell you it only works at peak capacity when you deepen into your gut & heart the worst option is to not go far enough with either

a time-based/internal way of imaging self-reference (follow the logic of a statement from within and it eventually refers back to itself) vs a spatial/external way (a system appears to contain its own logic). Can anything be seen both ways, or is this a quality of self-reference?

I gotta be honest, I’m excited about Vision Pro and AR stuff for one reason, and one reason only: The human mind works best spatially, great ideas happen when we have universal basic conspiracy-wall/room,, And too many of us are held back rn by the logistics of making one

Complete systems of thought need to include magic, because magic can account for the gap in logic left by the incompleteness issue. Analogical thinking is the only thing that fills that gap, and the analogies themselves need to include the gap, making them also recursive.

I have a lot of thoughts about the Dune movie, but mostly that it's beautiful and that nobody, including Frank Herbert, can tell us what it's "about" because it's a (really effective) novel. Also, though, that it may work best if you read the books 3-5 times first.

"To prepare good thinkers we need to cultivate good seers." - me. i was reading something written about using Unflattening in a classroom just now - and reminded of this tiny passage, which says a lot about the heart of the book in a tiny space!

[trump voice] They’re calling it prison abolition, folks, complex—prison industrial complex, they’re calling it. Very disgusting, very sad [crowd boos] I’m the first person to say, perhaps that none of us are free until all of us are free, and you’ll be hearing it more and more

There is an incredibly peculiar idea that I've seen everywhere: Attractor States. It's in economics, biology, physics, statistics. Long thread breaking it down:
