I recently met Blood Cancer UK to hear about their landmark report-the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan. In the last 10 years, 1m+ potential years of life have been lost to blood cancer. This needs to change. That's why I'm supporting their plan to improve survival in the UK.

Had a fantastic evening bringing Blood Cancer UK’s UK Blood Cancer Action Plan to the Scottish Parliament 🏴 thanks to all MSPs who joined us tonight inc Neil Gray MSP Miles Briggs MSP Jackie Baillie

Back from a rainy #LabConf24 brightened by fascinating panels and seeing health charity friends! Wes Streeting highlighted that UK cancer survival lagging behind -the Blood Cancer UK Action Plan offers solutions to improve blood cancer survival and learnings for other cancers too

I recently met with Blood Cancer UK to hear about their report the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan. Over 10 years, 1 million+ potential years of life have been lost to blood cancer. This must change. That’s why I'm supporting the plan to improve survival in Wales & across the UK

Thank you to Blood Cancer UK & staff in 10 North at the City Hospital for raising profile of what our patients face. Sorcha Eastwood MP is a strong advocate on this & we will continue to work to secure the therapies needed & refurb that is vital for patient safety and experience.

Great to be at Stormont today to hear the Blood Cancer UK and Leukaemia&LymphomaNI panel on how we can better address #BloodCancer here in NI. We fully endorse their call for investments in the workforce, diagnostics, clinical trials, and facilities. #CancerCantWait

I was delighted to meet with representatives from Blood Cancer UK yesterday,to hear about some of the ways we can improve our detection rates & treatment for people with blood cancer.I look forward to continuing this work in the hope that we can improve survival for people here.

A fantastic way to end the week - Minister confirming in response to Clive Jones MP Westminster Hall debate thar there will be a cancer strategy which will follow the 10 year health plan The cancer community spoke with #onecancervoice & I’m delighted that Wes Streeting listened

Exciting news – yesterday Stephen Kinnock outlined the UK government's commitment to a National Cancer Plan. Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer but as Clive Jones MP said during the debate, historically there's been a lack of strategic direction in blood cancer policy.

Now is the time to address this and to create a brighter future for people with blood cancer, as outlined in our UK Blood Cancer Action Plan. Thank you to Clive Jones MP for raising this debate and Max Wilkinson MP for sharing your experience of being affected by blood cancer.

Congratulations to the Aisling Burnand Award 2024 winner Blood Cancer UK! We received many excellent examples of impactful advocacy, but the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan stood out for its particularly strong evidence base, clear presentation & wide reach. bit.ly/3ZFpYOk
