I'm a full leg amputee but Sainsbury's (Irvine) still made me stand in q and said "not fair on everyone else"!! Even Manager said everyone had to q. Tesco on the other hand, apologised for not spotting me earlier and allowed me through without waiting. Well done Tesco!! ♥️

Just watched ‘The Teacher with Tourette’s’ on channel5. This brave and courageous woman is teaching her kids that her condition doesn’t define or limit her. I hope she inspires other budding ‘disabled’ teachers to believe that they too can succeed! Strath BA Primary Ed Strathclyde Institute of Education

Just read my quote of the YEAR from Hall, K. (2010) “It is not what the reader reads that counts, but who that reading makes the reader become” I can’t wait to immerse my readers in out of this world experiences! Roll on 2023! Strath BA Primary Ed

I came across this beautiful quote when thinking about what my literacy class will look like...”Reading and writing float on a sea of talk” (Britton, 1983). Let’s hope my class has a door and 4 walls as it’s going to be a bit on the loud side!! 😄Strathclyde Institute of Education Strath BA Primary Ed

When oh when will @thetimesscot realise the harm they do to schools who prioritise children’s health and well-being over exam results! Please stop undermining those in education who ensure ALL children thrive not just those capable of passing 5 Nat 5’s! Mental Health first guys!

A friend was told on a tour by the headteacher that if they wanted to apply to work at the school they'd be expected to arrive at 7.30am and stay until 6pm. Does no one at this school have children? Other commitments? A life? They wisely decided not to apply.

Hoping returning to placement today had a good day Strathclyde Institute of Education @StrathPGDE Strath BA Primary Ed This term was always my favourite as it seemed to be where many children progressed the most with many💡 moments. You’ll be a part of the reason for those moments. Enjoy and all the best.

have always worried as to whether I would recognise the signs of a mental health crisis with the children in my care. I worry if I am noticing enough and do my relationships have depth not superficial. Thanks Catriona Robb for giving me confidence through todays lecture!

Where are all the disabled teachers? 'Pedagogy is also shaped by our life experiences. Teachers with disabilities offer knowledge through their bodies and experiences that isn’t usually part of the curriculum' (Anderson, 2006, p. 368). Don't silence their voices! Strathclyde Institute of Education
