The decision to halt plans for an airport on the Pickering Lands would not have been possible without the 50 plus years of dedicated advocacy of local citizens and organizations. Yesterday, I joined Land Over Landings to celebrate all those who played a role in making it happen.

Our govt plans to transfer the vast majority of the remaining Pickering Lands to Parks Canada. That wouldn't have been possible w/o 50+ years of advocacy by local residents & community groups. On Sat., I joined Land Over Landings to celebrate everyone who helped make it happen.
