60" corn with innerseed. Turned the cows out on it after harvest and cleaned up the cover then actually ate the stalks off just to a stump in certain parts of the field. Never done that before, areas that they ate everything was where corn yield was good 200-220. @realJohnKempf

How important is hydraulic downforce in no till and covers? Have non active pneumatic DF now. Getting differing opinions on people I've asked. Becks PFR says so but that is conventional till. Any trials been done? Thanks

Still need a couple little things and new rims put on the rear. But for the most part the winter project is done. '63 706 gas (bad head gasket) and a '93 5.9 Cummins out of a junked RoGator. Always wanted to do this project and the pieces finally came together!

Read this thread, again, and 1 more time. Very good points. That min wage employee is bringing fewer $ through the door at 15/hr vs 12. If N doubles where do we need to be selling grain? Look @ the whole picture. Don't fall into recency bias. Lower expenses creates breathing room

A lot of shaking and moving going on the past few days. Getting manure out, seed oats planted and a few beans put it in the ground. Trying to get most of the early spring work done before snow this weekend.

Agree. Frankly many farmers don't care because what's another 50 lbs of N especially now when 10 more bu gets you in the green. I think most farmers would laugh at the ISU N rate calc. I don't ever go much over 140 lbs. Tile outlet after 2 inches of rain the past 5 days

3.8" yesterday. And more coming down right now. Less than 1% planted around here. Many people who haven't put a seed in the ground yet. #noplant22

Maybe sometimes it's not about bushels and acres and yield. Planted this Milpa garden mix from Green Cover Seed in a few planter skips we had. Should be really fun to see what we can get out of it, and maybe actually bring some "farm to table" in our community. Food for thought

I’ll pay the cart rental, plus $500, to anyone that ā€œloses controlā€ of a golf cart and takes out the Summit tent at Dakotafest
