Is this really how we want to play #DnD? Interacting with our computers around a table instead of each other? This seems alien and very impersonal to me. Not my idea of fun at all. #DungeonsAndDragons #TTRPG #OneDnD

In Land of Myth™ | Official #ttrpg to progress a PC needs Glory and Divine Favour! Classes have been replaced by a Skill Tree. To advance skills you need skill points (mainly through leveling up Glory) and in higher skill levels you also need Divine Favour so the gods grant you boons!

#ttrpg #osr #GreekMythology #selfpromosaturday Here the section from the Land of Myth™ | Official Alpha playtest explaining why player characters may only be human. I'm actually very happy with this passage!! 1/🧵

Initially Land of Myth™ | Official was designed as 5e compatible. The game didn't work - not because of the mechanics, but because #dnd5e rules cannot serve Greek mythology. It took a lot of discussions & nail biting, but the decision was made to redesign the game. Best decision ever.

#dnd may be everything to everyone all at once, but it doesn't do Greek mythology very well. The heroes in Homer's Iliad & Odyssey have no super powers. There're no elves or dwarves. There is no magic. If you want a #ttrpg set in #ancientgreece follow us! Alpha playtest coming!

#ttrpg #WipWednesday #indiegame Land of Myth: Age of Palaces was designed based on extensive research of Homer's Iliad & Odyssey, #GreekMythology, and Mycenaean Greece. It's a low magic, gritty world of heroes striving for glory & divine favour! Playtest draft coming soon!

In Land of Myth™ | Official #ttrpg I'm converting all the skills into PbtA-style moves & manoeuvres, and it's such a revelation!!! It's not a PbtA game (although it's heading that way) but the moves are ideal for mechanising the social & religious obligations of the Homeric world. Plus..

#wipWednesday #ttrpg Land of Myth™ | Official I'm currently changing All Skills and various awkward abilities into... PbtA Moves!!! I can't describe how perfectly everything fits together! How many problems have been solved! How much the game has fallen into place with the genre!

I just read one of the most fascinating, most well thought and well written articles I've read in a while!!! Incredible! John Heath, 'The Legacy of Peleus: Death and Divine Gifts in the Iliad' (Hermes, 1992). #Homer #Iliad #AncientGreece 1/2
