On Monday, Coaler junior LHP/OF/1B Lance Cuddy hit a ball that landed on the softball field at the pin on the picture. In 30 years of coaching on that field, can't remember a ball being hit that far, roughly 460+ feet. Heck of a swing by a fantastic player and even better kid.

Stacked 2026 class! HQ and K’s boys all over the updated PBR rankings.

Varsity Coalers travel to Wilmington and grab back a share of the ICE conference lead with a 10-7 win. Cuddy and Henline solid on the bump and the Coaler bats pound out 13 hits in the win.

Coalers walk off Reed Custer 2-1 to advance to the regional title game. AJ Wills goes the distance allowing 1 run on 7hits with 5Ks. Lance Cuddy singles home Kellen Forsythe (double) in the 6th to tie it. Dylan Young singles home Gavin Berger (double) to walk it off in the 7th.

Coalers lose a heartbreaker to Wilmington in the regional final 1-0 on a walkoff homer. Lance Cuddy was fantastic on the bump for Coal City going 6 shutout innings. Cuddy also had two doubles at the plate. Gabe McHugh and Connor Henline added hits. Coalers finish the year 23-12.

Congrats to Coaler seniors Gabe McHugh and AJ Wills (bottom) and Juniors Lance Cuddy, Ethan Olson, and Gavin Berger (top) on being selected to the 2025 ICE all Conference Baseball Team. Solid year for these guys and the Coalers.
