📕 Newark Book Festival 📕 A fantastic & yet humbling afternoon at Newark Palace Theatre listening to Michael Rosen speaking about how he traced his missing relatives from the Holocaust. We had a little light relief with Michael recounting how the "Nice Grandpa" meme went viral!

Imagine turning 13 & meeting one of your favourite poets, the writer of the first poem that you learned by heart (Bear Hunt); having him wish you a #HappyBirthday & signing your book. Thank you Michael Rosen 💙💙🎓🎓 for a fantastic afternoon, & thank you Dr Tim Rideout for interviewing!

9 years ago today, I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan Uni with my MA Writing.I’m now halfway-ish through my #PhD at University of Lincoln, UK & one step closer to making my dream come true. I didn’t think I’d get this far whilst working full time, single parenting, & home-owning but dreams can come true.

Thank you James Nicol and Waterstones Lincoln for this morning’s wonderful author event at the Lincoln Museum and Usher Gallery. We’re all feeling suitably inspired and are off home to draw our own story maps!

Thomas Hobbit accompanied me to University of Lincoln, UK today for my #PhD supervision with Amy Lilwall. He had a great time, entertained Amy with his stories & drawings, & was very well behaved while we talked about the serious stuff. He’s very excited for when he gets to choose his degree.

Arrival day for the Dyski #WritingSeasAndTrees residential in Cornwall. A warm welcome from Wyl Menmuir and organiser extraordinaire Dion Star, with fabulous food and a game plan for the week. Now for fire, wine and words before bed.

I am truly blessed to have spent the most wonderful & creative week in Lamorna, Cornwall. The Dyski retreat facilitated by dionstar & @wylmenmuir has given me the time, space & gentle guidance to embrace my writing, and learn so much about myself and my creative practice.
