This morning around 2am, someone burned down this sign created by a woman and her trans child in Abita Springs. This is what hate looks like.

Help us continue to spread this story. So far, we've raised over $6k in under 8 hours and we've been offered other properties to place additional signs on. If that arsonist only knew that their actions would just multiply our efforts. nola.com/news/crime_pol…

In less than 24 hours, we've raised just over our goal of $6,000 to rebuild the sign that was burned down, provide security cams, build more signs, and create new yard signs using the art from the original sign. Thank you to everyone who supported this!

Thanks to WWL-TV for speaking with the members of our community. We've used this hate crime as an opportunity to come together. Let this be a lesson to anyone who attacks the LGBTQ community and their allies on the Northshore. wwltv.com/article/news/e…

Three new Louisiana bills would codify the ability to ban or censor books. We need your help to address this threat now. Follow this link to the analysis of each bill and to use pre-drafted letters to send to the committee members. la-cac.org/2023-legislati…

If y'all would take a moment to bring some love and encouragement to drown out the otherwise hateful or dismissive comments on this NOLA.com tweet, that would really make our day.

Clowns like this man child are actively ruining satire. SNL in 2024? Just a string of right wing promo videos stitched together. Parody just can't compete with naturally stupid.

Yesterday in St Tammany, love won. Over 150 people showed up for the "Ban Hate, Not Books" protest and the number of supportive people passing by was overwhelming. youtube.com/watch?v=u-o-RR…

There's no other way to say it.... this is some next level BS. If Louisiana State Senate refuses to hear us, we will get louder. So. Much. Louder. lailluminator.com/2023/04/27/sen…

Great news today. Louisiana #HB25 (the library oversight bill pushed into legislation by the pro-censorship crowd) has died in committee. Thanks in part to the hundreds (nearly 1k) of emails sent by those supporting free speech and all of those who showed up at the capitol today.

The Senate passed a bill that would allow parish library systems to hire directors who are not certified librarians — after senators added in language a House committee rejected that would allow library board members to be dismissed without cause. #lalege lailluminator.com/2024/05/28/lou…
