Let's talk about age verification from a dev perspective. You have a hobby. You make software for free and share it with the world. You now get accused of hating kids, network attacks against your servers, and told to lose your house for others freedom. Is that OK?

Arch is looking at adding the age field in their installer. Their version is world readable github.com/archlinux/arch…

You're friendly reminder not to buy directly from Blueair Purifiers if you want one of their products. They will ghost you if Fedex loses the package and keep the cash! They will also block you on social media for it!

I've been playing around with on prem LLMs for a few months. Decided to try out mistral ai's API offering. it's decent. Good speeds for the small model.

One thing they don't tell you about AI stuff is it gets very expensive fast. I just bought a new GPU because it was taking too long for results on the 2017 ai accelerator i bought on ebay lol. I'll post new results when I get it installed.

AMD’s latest CPU 9950X3D2 is getting many talking about the penalties of cross-CCD cache latency. But trust me, AMD has a way weirder chip, the EPYC 9175F. At first glance, they look *somewhat* similar. Both 16 cores, 32 threads, Zen 5, lots of L3. Yet, the EPYC spreads it

It's fascinating the excuses AI companies come up with for not supporting more operating systems. They have more AI resources than anyone. nvidia could have ai finish cuda support for freebsd. Anthropic could revert the bun shift or add support for more platforms to bun.

With Utah's insane law for websites coming into effect, a lot of articles and discussions have focused on VPNs. What about tor exit nodes?
