Not to glorify it, but Lt KDW my father bombed Kassel July 28, 1943, it was one of his most dangerous missions. He typed the following account in his #WWII diary. It is also his longest account, ten pages. sites.google.com/view/wooldridg…

My dad visited Frankfort Germany, seen here is the post war year of 1946 his picture. Bombed out buildings in the background and what appears to be street cars or the European equivalent in the foreground. Dad was part of the 86th U.S. Army as a PFC.

The Trust recorded this very special reading of the late, great Harry Billinge reading ‘The Longest Day’, on a trip to Normandy in 2018, when he visited the site of the Memorial for the first time. #DDay80

1st Lt. Robert C. Frascotti was born on February 13, 1923 in Milford, Massachusetts. On D-Day, he departed for his 89th mission. This was to be his last mission of the war. Sadly, he never made that journey home to MA until many years later. #DDay80 aviationtrails.wordpress.com/heroic-tales-o…
