Social distancing saves lives. Our mitigation measures will not have their intended impact unless we all do our part as Louisianans and be good neighbors. #lagov #lalege

We may be physically apart, but LAYP is still 100% together in planning for the 2020 louisiana legislative session. Be safe! #SocialDistancing #QuaratineLife

ICYMI: Yesterday, I formally extended the Stay at Home order until April 30. It is absolutely critical that each Louisianan take this Stay at Home order seriously. Act as if your life depends on it – because it does. Do your part. Stay home. Stop the spread. Save lives. #lagov

Health equity is key. The more we understand why #COVID19 threatens some communities at higher rates, the more we can deploy effective solutions. #HealthEquity

Students borrowing to go to school will be vulnerable in the economic uncertainty caused by #COVID19. So we are supporting Julie Emerson's bill HB 676 which would protect students by prohibiting universities from withholding transcripts for financial reasons. #lalege #lagov

House Education votes 11-3 for Julie Emerson bill to ban public colleges from refusing to provide a transcript to a student because of unpaid debts. Moves next to House floor. #lalege #laed

LAYP got a shoutout today in the House Education Committee for its efforts on HB 676. The bill helps protect students by preventing the withholding of their transcripts by schools for financial reason. And it passed out of the committee in a 11-3 vote today🎊 #FreeTheTranscipts

HB 676 seeks to prevent schools from withholding transcripts from students who still owe debt to the school, but an amendment would exempt private universities, like Tulane, and the for-profit institutions the bill targets. #lalege #lagov bit.ly/2zkPYVo

Let's not handcuff students pursuing opportunities. Students need access to their transcripts so they can secure employment or return to school. Call your representatives and ask them to support HB676. legis.la.gov/legis/findmyle
