Look out for the transcript and Zoom link for our next data session, coming to your inbox soon! This Monday we'll welcome Ann Weatherall as we examine calls to the police. We look forward to welcoming you 😊
We had an amazing writing retreat as a research group last week! A lot of interesting chats, tasty dinners, and even a hula hoop session! Big thanks to Beatriz Lopez for organizing it and everyone else contributing to the fun!
Well done to Leanne Chrisostomou - I co-served on annual review of her dissertation critically examining ADOS's assessment of autistic people's communication. It reminded me of a critical commentary on ADOS by Sami Tamimi, Damian Milton, Virginia Bovell, & I: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
PhD viva passed! Great discussion about interaction within #autism diagnosis/the ADOS and the need for a strengths based approach to diagnosis. Thanks to my supervisors Iris Nomikou - @[email protected] Alessandra Fasulo and Beatriz Lopez, and examiners Dr. Michelle O’Reilly and Dr. Mark Haydon-Laurelut.
My #PhD thesis is available. With #NHS #Autism assessment data we demonstrate the benefits of a strengths based approach to diagnosis whilst showing the consequences of a deficit approach and limiting what occurs naturally in interaction. ResearchGate: researchgate.net/publication/38…
