Seeing the underclassman soaked brought forth a sense of guilt in Ayaka. As a senpai she should have been the one to buy the umbrella. “Yes let’s.” The sooner they got back to her place the better. She began to lead him towards the direction of her home.

“I suppose life is strange like that.” She laughed a bit. “I don’t think I’ve asked, but do you go to school near here?” The uniform he wore didn’t look familiar to her at all. Perhaps a new school opened up without her knowing.

Tsukunihara? She hadn’t heard of that school before, but it wasn’t like Ayaka had any reason to doubt Hakuno’s words. “I hope you’re enjoying your time there.” Was that what students normally said to one another? Ayaka didn’t know. “...We should be getting close to home.”

“Ah..ye-yeah that’s my house.” Hakuno’s reaction was one Ayaka was accustomed to receiving when one learned of her living situation. It made sense considering her home wasn’t one most of her peers would have.

“Not at all! I’m not really wealthy at all.” Technically any wealth she had was locked away in bonds, the what wasn’t was managed by her guardian. “It’s just an old family home is all..”

His words felt strange to her. Surely he didn’t hold their friendship in such high regard? Surely there were others worthy of such kindness “Would you like to come in? It’s still raining and without an umbrella..” she trailed off, realizing that she might overstepping boundaries

“I’m sure.” She would feel terrible about sending someone out in the pouring rain. Besides Hakuno didn’t look like someone who held any ulterior motives. “Please come in.” Unlocking the front door her beckoned him to come inside.

“It’s the least I could do.” Especially after he had walked her all the way home In the rain. Thankfully Saber was no where to be seen, Ayaka would rather not have to explain to an underclassman why there was an unrelated male living with her. “Is there something wrong?”

“Normal as one can be.” At least that’s what she made herself out to be beyond her front door. Still she found it odd that he would ask such a thing. “I’ll go make us some tea and get a towel to dry yourself off.” She said, leading him to her living room.

She returns with a tray of hot tea and some snacks. Along with a towel for the male to dry himself of the rain. “I do.” Her answer is a short one. Sparing the other of what led to her current living situation.

“It is isn’t it?” Thankfully she had become accustomed to living on her own after all these years. “Please help yourself to some tea. I feel pretty bad about you getting wet while getting the umbrella. Are you sure you don’t want me to reimburse you?”

Ayaka was none the wiser of Hakuno’s magus background. As far as she knew he was a normal high school student. “It’s alright. I was the one who ushered you in here.” It made sense to feel unease in the house of a stranger.

“...Is there something you wanted do know?” How strange. Did she do something to make the other suspicious of her?

“Wh-what?!” She sputtered out, practically choking on the tea she had just taken a sip of. How in the world did he know about her home’s boundary? Unless... “Kishinami-kun, you know what that is?” Waryness is present in her tone.

“Not at all!” Sapphire iries widen in shock. She had no idea that the boy before was a magus as well! Even if she had she would never do such a thing to him. Her shock aside, Ayaka could not blame him for being suspicious of a fellow magus. “I had no idea...”

She silent for a moment. There was no use lying now that the cat is out of the bag. Doing so may only serve to escalate things further. “I am a magus, and I do not live here alone. I have a servant.”

She shook her head. “I didn’t sense anything from you, nor did I feel the need to dig any deeper.” Her tone was filled with honesty. “I meant what I said though. I had no ulterior motives for inviting you here. Neither me or my servant are like that.”

“I’m sorry too.” She sets her tea cup down. How unfortunate she was hoping the two of them could become friends. “If you’re uncomfortable with being here I won’t hold it against you for leaving.” After most would be wary in a other magus’s domain.

“I have no desire to fight with you, Kishinami.” There was no need to, at least not now.

Relief washed over her, Ayaka didn’t know what she would do if they to fight one another. “Thank you, Kishinami-san.”
